Nunziata is grateful to know and support so many members of her local food world! We have learned so much about farming, seasonal food cycles, and the importance of supporting your local farmers, producers and vendors. In return, we get to provide the most delicious Italian cookies and baked goods to you. Whenever “the girls” are laying, Nunziata gets her eggs for all of her baking from Big Belly Farm in Chapin, SC. And it is a great treat when we get some of their duck eggs – if you haven’t baked with duck eggs, you must! Incredible! If you have had our Pesche peach cookies, you have had our handmade Alchermes liqueur. We use Firefly vodka from Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina and add organic spices and rose water in the month-long process. Did you get some local strawberries from Cottle Farms in Columbia before the season ended? We did! And we baked them into delicious treats that flew off the table at the Soda City Market on Columbia’s Main Street. Are you a fan of our Polenta Chocolate Chip cookies? They are made with blue corn polenta straight from Columbia’s Congaree Milling Company. For our June market, the polenta was milled for us the same day we baked the cookies – you can’t get any better! Nunziata also grows her own mint leaves to top her Pesche peach cookies, and her own rosemary for Rosemary Butter Cookies. And we are always searching for other local producers to support.
